We do not quote prices from a web page. The range below is one published third-party figure, cited in the table, so you can see where it comes from. Local prices vary, and a written estimate for your well is the only number that counts.

What moves the price
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Pump type | Submersible pumps sit in the well and are generally pulled for replacement. Jet pumps sit above ground and are easier to reach. The two are priced differently. |
| Well depth | A deeper well means more drop pipe and wire, a larger pump and more time to pull and reset. |
| Household demand | Pump size is matched to how much water the house uses. |
| What actually failed | If the cause is the pressure switch or the tank, you may not need a new pump. A diagnosis is cheaper than the wrong part. See no-water diagnosis. |
| Related parts | Wiring, a control box on some submersible systems, a pressure tank or switch replaced at the same time all add to the total. |
| Disinfection and testing | Ohio rule 3701-28-11 requires a repaired well to be disinfected before the water is used for drinking. |
